When the New Music Co-op invited me to write a piece for Quince Vocal Ensemble, I knew I had to find a text that would relate to my sisters and me. We had recently been talking more in a group chat that we had named “Sister City,” so I decided to go back through our messages from that year and use our own words to each other to structure the piece.
