The Unstrung Harp (2015)

This piece was written for my friend Sara Watson, and premiered at the New Media Art and Sound Summit put together by COTFG. This piece was really important to me because it was the first lengthy piece I wrote after college, and it takes its title from Edward Gorey’s short story. The prepared tape consists of sounds produced with Sara’s harp, including noises produced by scratching the strings and the aeolian-harp-like drone heard throughout the majority of the piece.

Duration: 14:00

Instrumentation: harp and prepared tape
